How is God Working Through ISI?

“God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us.”
– 1 Corinthians 12:6 (NLT).

For those in Goa, India, it's not unusual to enjoy the picturesque seaside beneath the warm sun. Peering out to the ocean, it's common to see the bright blue Arabian Sea reflecting an equally serene sky.

Except during monsoon season!

As you may know, International Students, Inc. hosted one of our most powerful conferences this June in Goa. Last year, Goa hotel representatives informed us

that we were planning our then-upcoming conference during the area's severe monsoon season. But what happened clearly highlights God’s undeniable blessings upon us!

When we arrived in Goa, it was evident that the monsoon was in effect. But by the first day of the conference, it cleared up and only rained at night. In the morning, the newspaper headline read: “Monsoon Weakens over Goa.” The skies, bright summer blue, remained 100% clear all four days of the conference!

Following the final session of the conference, I looked outside and just then: it started to pour down rain. God, literally, cleared the weather for us the entire conference!

Some might call this a “coincidence” or a serendipitous change in the weather. I believe, though, that God answered our prayers for clear skies. I believe that He blessed this conference in so many ways!

While reflecting on this and so many other blessings God has given us this summer, the question I had to ask myself was, “How is God working?” I thought of the verse in 1 Corinthians that reminds us of how “God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us,” (1 Corinthians 12:6, NLT).

This summer we have definitely been blessed to witness how God is working through people. This includes all of the people who led M:28 seminars and those who went to Goa and visited returnees. Several conference attendees have shared with us how the experience blessed them. One of our staffers, wrote:

The experience in India was one of the most educational experiences in my life. I have traveled extensively, but experiencing first-hand the sheer magnitude of the mass of humanity with no hope in Christ was a life-changing experience. The enormity of the poverty was overwhelming (and I didn't even visit the major slum areas). They have no hope of bettering their life “in this life.” The fatalism of Hinduism was drilled into me. The only hope for India is Jesus Christ!

Stories like this continue to pour into the ISI Home Office. We look forward to sharing more with you in the future!

This summer, we have seen God’s provision in those who continuously give to our ministry. We are so thankful for our faithful donors! I have an incredible story that further highlights God's perfect and providential timing.

We have truly seen God work through prayer, through people who serve and through His provision for our finances this summer! It is important to give full credit to Him for our countless blessings! I am reminded of Jeremiah 9:23, where the Lord tells us the powerful should not boast in power “or the rich boast in their riches.”

As we head into a new season, I encourage you to pray for God's provision in the upcoming months for International Students, Inc. Our staff and volunteers are in an incredible position to share the Good News with students from all over the world. I encourage you to pray for open hearts and open minds! We look forward to sharing more stories of how God continues to work through our ministry. Thank you for your faithfulness and your prayers!
